Sip Happens started with a simple observation: private events in New Jersey almost always underserve the bar. Either nobody wants the job, or someone takes it on and spends their own party pouring warm drinks into red cups instead of enjoying the night they helped plan. We exist to take that job off the table entirely — properly, legally, and without cutting corners on the parts that actually matter.
What we believe about this job
- The bar should be finished before your first guest arrives, not still being set up as they walk in.
- “Good enough” alcohol math is how bars run dry at 8pm — we plan quantities properly, every time.
- New Jersey’s alcohol rules exist for a reason, and knowing them cold is part of the service, not a footnote.
- A signature cocktail should say something about the event, not just be a vodka drink with a clever name.
How we work
Every event runs under New Jersey’s standard dry-hire structure: you buy the alcohol from a licensed retailer, and we pour it as your agent. That means no per-drink markup, no cash bar, and no legal gray area — just a properly built and staffed bar, ready 60 to 90 minutes before service, torn down completely at the end of the night. Read the full breakdown on our dry-hire explainer page.
Where we work
We cover the middle of the Jersey Shore — from Toms River out to the barrier islands and across the bay towns toward Manahawkin and Lacey Township. See the full list on our service areas page.
Licensed, insured, and built for the paperwork too
Every bartender is licensed and insured, trained on responsible service and ID checks, and comfortable coordinating directly with your planner, caterer or venue. For corporate clients, we can supply a certificate of insurance, a W-9, and a single itemized invoice — tell us what your team needs and it will be ready before the event.
